Ⅲ. Exhibition intention requirements
Ruci Town of China is located beside the Yanhedian ancient kiln site in the south of Ruzhou City. The Mangchuan River runs through the entire town from west to east. Since ancient times, there has been a saying: “10-mile-Mangchuan River, 10-mile Kiln Factory”. The town is also famous for its historical and cultural heritage, and rich ceramic mineral and water resources.
In recent years, in order to celebrate and develop the historical and cultural heritage of Ru Kiln, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government of Ruzhou has been far-sighted with the development concept of “making art ceramic popularized and ceramics high-end”, inheriting the concept of “culture+technology+industry+tourism+leisure” and adhering to the concept of having the three major industries converged.
The total planning area of the town is about 12 square kilometers, with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan. The Shanghai Tongji University and Tsinghua University were employed to conduct overall planning of the town. The Ruzhou Investment Corporation, Henan Sanjian and China Liuye used the “PPP” model for investment and construction, and the famous operation team CYTS operated professionally. The township follows the structure of “multiple groups on both sides of the strait”. Many venues, like the Ruci Museum, the Ruzhou Art Museum, the Rutie Culture Park, the Henan Provincial Ceramic Product Supervision and Inspection Center, the Visitor Service Center, the International Pottery Village, the Ancient Kiln Site Park, and the Ruci Master Garden, the Creator Source, the Mangchuan River water ecosystem, the Rural Homestay Complex, etc, have been arranged in an orderly manner to build a rich and colorful cultural experience. The town cooperates with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, Jingdezhen Ceramics University, Zhengzhou University, Pingdingshan College and other scientific research units to accelerate the integration of production, study and research, attracting high-level talents to settle down here and innovate and start businesses.
In the process of construction, Ruci Town of China was successively appraised as "Henan Provincial Key Cultural Industrial Park", "Henan Cultural and Technological Integration Demonstration Base", "Provincial Grade Garden Complex", "Henan Cultural Industry Demonstration Park", "Henan Province Service Industry Park" and "Henan Youth Innovation and Demonstration Park". In August 2017, the town was successfully rated as one of "the second batch of nationally characteristic towns". In December 2017, the town was awarded the honorable title of “the Ruci Town of China” by the China Ceramic Industry Association.
The International Environmental Sculpture Ceramic Art Contest is open to all throughout the world and invites artists to participate in the cultural construction of the Ruci Town of China. The work focuses on the theme of "Tianqing Dream • Ruyao as the Queen", which embodies China as the birthplace of porcelain, and Ruzhou as the head of the Five Famous Kilns in the Northern Song Dynasty --- the spirit of Chinese civilization in the Ruci Town of China. The emphasis is placed on thematic sculpture creation of various cultural landscapes within the Ruci town of China in order to create the sculpture works with the characteristics of ceramic art, which can be seen as a logo and landmark.
