看雕塑, 聽雕塑人心聲)))))) 金與土立體藝術展06 雕塑 人語 Messages from the Sculpture Artists 文 庭 Van King: 當審美觀由經濟價值觀操控的時候,雕塑家的創作是否遭受歪曲? 當雕與塑的技巧要假手於別人的時候,雕塑家的創作是否淪為設計? 當雕塑家不知道如何駕馭材料的時候,雕塑的創作是否會被限制? 當擁有1001種理論、1001種主義、1001種文憑(社會認同)——雕塑家不必再雕和塑! When aesthetics is controlled by market values, will the creation of the sculptor be distorted? When sculpting is delegated to the hands of others, will the creation of the sculptor be debased to mere designing? When the sculptor doesn’t know how to master his materials, will the creativity of the sculpture be limited? When the sculptor has 1001 theories, 1001 ideologies, 1001 diplomas (recognized by society) – he/she has no need to sculpt anymore. 歐淑娥 Echo Au: 由基本物料學起: 陶泥,石膏,玻璃,蜡和銅片等等, 由平面的點線面追蹤到立體空間; 棄掉的”私生子(失敗的製作)愈多, 開始明白做雕塑的基本功是最重要的一課. 當搞通了某種物料運用時, 創作的空間突然廣濶起來(直情是無敵大海景)! Learn from the basic materials: clay, plaster, glass, wax and copper sheets etc., tracking down from 2D dots and lines to three dimensional creations; via failures, one starts to understand the importance of attaining good basic skill! The world of creation will be broadened, in mighty panorama, by the savvy in using of materials! 余衛萍 Alinoz Yee : 學雕塑,起步時甚難,而且仍會過渡一段不知會有多長的「失敗期」,每次看見自己「失敗」的種種:手勢差、造型差、氧化、裂、釉色灰沉錯程式……,丟棄「它」倒是不情願,看見「它」就更難過,只好一次又一次改善錯誤的地方,在不知何時有成績的情況下,祈求下次開窰門時,給我一點點的好回報,令我不致於徹底失望而放棄。我不甘心自己認識淺、不甘心自己沒經驗,做不出連「普通」也不如的作品,因此我認真地「查找」並克服自己的不足。 It is arduous to start learning sculpture, one has to go through an endless period of failures! Each time when witnessing the multi-infinite duds of yourself: bad hand skill, awful shaping, oxidation, fracture, wrong formulation…..it is hard to give ‘It’ up and feel terrible to keep ‘It’ on sight, I could only try my best to improve the frailty each time, praying for a miracle result during my next dispatch of works from the kiln, so as to encourage myself to fight on! It is not at all tolerant for being amateurish, and not even able to make a ‘standard’ piece of work, therefore I have to ‘quest’ resolutely and conquer my shortcomings. 梁慧儀Liz Leung : 在今次展覽由預備做作品起,不斷地去接受種種因技術不良或錯誤;甚至是不知原因而引起之失敗,萬般痛苦都很難以文字來形容。但當看見作品慢慢地出現在眼前,心裡都說我可做到(但它都不是一件完美的作品)。所以如果我們有心去做終有一天會成功的。 From the preparation of the exhibition, I have to face failures of all sorts due to my green technique in the art creation, the pain is unutterable! I am ascertained again that ‘I Can’ when I witness my artworks gradually created in front of my very eyes, though they are not perfection yet! Create with one’s heart is the key to success! 招嘉寶 Judy Chiu: 對我來說,佢係另類,充滿技術,智慧,經驗同天份既結晶,由揑塑、複模、複模、再複模,並唔係press個enter咁簡單;內裡所要既時間,精神,心機,堅持,堅毅,其他人既經驗同天份,唔係你話要做就做到。我萬分感謝上天賦予我藝術上既天份,令我起步時不至一敗塗地而放棄,亦感謝上天令我在適當時候遇上”金與土”,早一分,遲一秒,都可能做就不了今日既我,由零到完成品,當中過程及滿足感非筆墨所能形容,那份看見作品既充實感,令我完全忘記過程中所付出的一切,然後再投入另一個旅程。 Sculpture is an eccentric technical knowledge full of wisdom, experiences and talents. From shaping, molding and modeling and remolding, it is not simply pressing any ‘enter’ key; it requires concentration, effort, persistence and hardworking of a person and his coworkers at the same time. I praised the heaven for giving me the art talent as my stepping stone for the art form and letting me in with METAL And EARTH at the right timing, any difference of such, I would be impossible for me to become who I am today! From zero to what I have accomplished, it is indescribable of my concrete satisfaction! What I have sacrificed is no longer important and I am always ready to devote myself to another creation! 伍倩宜 Ivy Ng 要熟練地運用工作室內每一件物件, 完全掌握阿Sir可以教的一切, 恐怕要窮我一生精力。 但「金」與「土」就是有着一份魔力, 讓我忘返的溜連這個大觀園。 園子裏的科目實在也真多, 主修的可以是運用各種物料創作手工藝、藝術品和雕塑。副選的可以是化工知識, 基本物料認識, 各種生產工具操控. 還有山草藥科、 紅酒科、 植物科、 飲食科、 養魚科、 政經科、 哲學科一一雕塑與藝術就該在我們的生活當中, 雕塑的作品就是反映着生活的意義。若本着這種思維看我們的周圍, 我們真的缺少很多很多. 所以, 聽到雕塑的吶喊! 我亦拿出雙手來呼應.。 It would take me a whole lifetime to be able to deftly handle every item in the studio and to grasp everything my teacher teaches. But METAL and EARTH does have the magical power to ensnare me in this cornucopia. There are so many programmes in this place. We can major in the utilization of various materials in creating handicrafts, artworks and sculptures. We can minor in chemical knowledge, basic materials knowledge, operating different production tools; there is herbology, red wine studies, botany, food and beverage studies, aquaculture, politics and economics, philosophy – sculpting and art are in our lives, sculptures reflect the purpose of life. If we look at the world using this mentality, we realize we are short of many, many things. So, when I hear the roaring of sculptures, I respond with my hands. http://www.metalandearth-hk.com
